These were the result of my first term spend solely in the hot glass studio, whilst working on the 'Design for Industry' project. I was looking at how you could change clear glass without adding colour. I drew inspiration from a dish served on '
Masterchef', which was served on top of a glass dish filled with smoke. This lead me to looking at smoke and how it could fill a glass vessel. The incense burner would only appeal to a niche market and so I looked at the shapes of flames in order to develop this, and then sandblasted the pieces to give them their smoky appearance.
